I Heart Faces – Week 13 – Dramatic B & W
This week’s challenge at I Heart Faces is Dramatic B&W. I chose this picture because it was actually a random shot of my son looking out the window and watching dogs playing. He joined them shortly after this photo. It was taken with natural lighting which, for me, makes the best pictures.

I ♥ Faces – Week 12 – “Focusing on Angles”
The challenge this week at I Heart Faces is Angles. This pictures was taken at a nearby park with my favorite subject, my son. I love how he is not cheesing it up but is actually just looking at me.

St. Patrick’s Day
I haven’t been using my camera as much as I would like so I took St. Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to get it out and shoot away. My son makes the perfect subject since he has such a great and willing personality. After taking a few posed shots, I let him did in the dirt in our soon-to-be garden. It was a beautiful day for a change and we enjoyed taking advantage of being outside.

I ♥ Faces – Week 11
This week’s photo challenge theme at “I Heart Faces” is: “Bundled Up.” I have not entered any photos for a while but am trying to get back into it. This is a great theme for me since we live in a very cold area so I thought I’d start now.

This is my beautiful son preparing for his very first ski trip.

Our New Backyard
I was bored the other day so I took my favorite subject outside to get some pictures in our new backyard.

Pudding Salute
Living on post we hear many, MANY different sounds over the speaker. One means it’s time for chow, one means chow is over, more are for PT and there is one to signal end of day. My son was outside eating pudding the other afternoon when the end of day started playing. He knows to salute and is very proud of himself when he remembers.

My New Lens
I was finally able to purchase a Nikon 50/1.4 AF-S for my D40 so I have been playing with it ALOT. I really enjoy the background blur when going for a face shot. Here are a couple of pictures of my sweet boy taken in our backyard.

Black and White
I took some posed pictures of my son, Bucky, the other day because he is just growing so fast and has developed such a wonderful personality. I don’t have studio lighting yet because I usually prefer to do location shoots so this was the best I could come up with for the moment.

Outside Fun
I have been taking a lot of pictures lately but haven’t had the opportunity to edit them so these are the way they came out of the camera.

Animals
It has been a little too cold to do much outdoor photography but I was getting antsy so I took some pictures of my animals. Enjoy!
